Comprehensive Care

Dr. Stadem and Dr. Erickson believe it is very important to treat each patient as an individual and to develop a treatment plan based on your particular needs.

In order to do this we need to get to know you, so as a new patient at our clinic we start off with one of our dentists greeting you in our consult room to discuss previous dental care, any current dental problems, and answer any questions you may have. You will then move to an exam room. It is important for us to look not only at each tooth but also to look at the oral cavity as a whole as well as the head and neck to collect all necessary diagnostic information. We do this by performing a detailed exam including:

  • Periodontal exam to inspect the hard and soft tissues of mouth
  •
  • Examine each tooth to chart previous treatment and evaluate current condition
  •
  • Tempromandibular joint (TMJ) evaluation
  •
  • Assess how your teeth function as a unit
  •
  • Check the muscles of the head and neck
  •
  • Perform oral cancer screening
  •
  • Take necessary x-rays to aid in diagnosis
  •

By the end of the appointment your dentist will have thorough understanding of your current condition and will take the time to explain your diagnosis and your treatment options allowing plenty of time to discuss any questions or concerns you may have. Occasionally in more complex cases additional records such as study models may be necessary and a treatment plan will follow after further evaluation.
