Veneers

Veneers help correct problems of esthetics when there is a sufficient amount of tooth structure remaining, such as malformed, slightly discolored or even sometimes mal-positioned teeth.

A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain bonded to the front part of the tooth. A preparation for a veneer requires removing a thin layer (about half a millimeter) of the outer enamel. This is necessary to make room for the porcelain. There are systems advertising “prepless veneers” that are just bonded to the outside of the tooth but we feel that these areun-esthetic, bulky, and potentially damaging to the gum tissue.

Am I a Candidate?

Because veneers are very thin, they aren’t recommended for all people such as people who heavily grind their teeth or have heavily/darkly stained teeth. If you would like to improve your smile using veneers, just ask for a consult!
